1 Geostatistics
In this course, we will include an analysis of geodata and examine kriging and co-kriging. We also look at geostatistic simulations, ore reserve calculations, and data quality control. We also present international guidelines for deposit modelling. |

2 3D-Synthesis of Mineral Deposits
The three-dimensional modelling of mineral deposits comprises various representation schemes for 3D-data, computer assisted design (CAD), modelling of geometric bodies, geometry engines, computer graphics, and 3D visualisation of internal surfacesbodies. |

1 Reservoir PetrophysicsBioleaching - Mining with Microorganisms
The course first presents the definition for bioleaching, a process that involves biological activities leading to the dissolution of metal sulfides, metal (hydr)oxides, and metal silicates. Various organisms take part in natural and (increasingly) technical bioleaching: bacteria, archaea, fungi; autotrophs and heterotrophs. This multitude of biota also results in many different mechanisms of bioleaching. Quite often, sulfur chemistry is severely affected by these processes and is, thus, discussed in particular. Then, industrial bioleaching applications are examined (in situ-, heap- and tank-leaching). |
